After losing its first two assignments, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel won the next three. Including last night’s game against KIA Mahindra.
The Gin Kings, showed their dominance at both ends of the court, and was in control of the ball game early on, scoring the first 11 points in the opening quarter.
Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, was led by their import, Othyus Jeffers, who nearly recorded a triple double, with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assist. LA Tenorio, continued his steady performance and showed an all-around game with 15 points, dishing out seven assist and grabbing six rebounds.
Ginebra’s twin towers, Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter contributed 14 and 12 points each, but was dominant in the defensive end, limiting Kia Mahindra’s import, Augustus Gilchrist, to just 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting.
Mahindra was led by veteran wingman, KG Canaleta, who carried most of the scoring load. KG was on fire behind the arc with five three pointers made in the game. But his teammates were not able to compliment on his hot shooting and the lackluster performance Gilchrist.
