Last night’s game, featured one of the heaviest match up in the league, Ken Bono versus Beau Belga. Merlaco’s comebacking big man, Ken Bono, stood his ground and won the match up against Rain or Shine’s, banger Beau Belga.
The former, UAAP MVP and Adamson’s player finished with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting in just ten minutes of playing. His best game so far, after suiting up for the Meralco Bolts this conference. Incidentally, it was his first points in six years. Ken Bono last played in the PBA last December 5, 2010, suiting up for Barako Bull, which is now known as Phoenix Fuel Masters.
The two heavyweights dazzled the crowd everytime the two of them get a chance to defend one another. Ken Bono and Beau Belga were banging bodies all night. After wining the matchup against Belga, Bono credits the practices they made, where he guarded their import, Arinze Onuaku. He said it helped him prepare against their match up.
He was once an immovable force during his college days and prime. His weight was never an issue with him, he’s a big man with a nice stroke from outside. You can still see that in his game today. Although, his current weight is not an issue to him. He is still putting up some work to shred off some pounds.
