Alaska Aces was quick enough to brush the rust from their vacation and bounced back from their first game loss, to register their first win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The Aces was playing catch up at the first half but was able to turn the tide around by making a rally to sneak past the defending champions Talk N Text Tropang Texters.
Alaska Aces and Talk N Text were parading new imports, and both were impressive and showed their brilliance by leading their teams in both scoring and rebounding.
David Simons, a replacement of Talk N Text import, Ivan Johnson, scored 35 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. While Dozier’s replacement, Shane Edwards puts up 36 points and pulled down 20 boards.
The Tropang Texters was leading 13 at the third quarter, before Alaska Aces made their run spearheaded by Jvee Casio, Chris Banchero and Edwards. Calvin Abueva made some crucial plays during the payoff period to seal the victory for the Aces.
